It is ironic that while most parts of present day India have patriarchal societies, most of these sadhus, especially the aghoris worship the female deity 'Durga', 'Kali' or 'Bhairavi', who are the incarnation of Parvati or Shakti- Shiva's consort.

You are right in a way, but I doubt this is related to cannabis, these societies in general are male dominated, so most of forms of expressions are male dominated, whether under influence or not. The difference is that at least in case of most of herb users there is more of cases of equality being declared, and there is no formal restrictions as such that women "should not express any knowledge or illumination that they receive from it". However, cannabis is tricky and winding herb, not straight and simple at all, so even if there is a lot of things being suggested by it, putting them in practice is way harder and often postponed. In the sense of clearer picture there are more powerful entheogens like ayahuasca, which users perhaps not by coincidence are more female oriented. But you will also find women rasta, fakirs or sadhus, especially in tantric Bengal, ganja and women are both crucial.

Interesting... But in the pictures illustrating the case I see no women... is this ritual exclusively for men? Because the few religions and "philosophies" I know that praise Cannabis are in fact selective, the wisdom comes from the mouths of men only; consumption of the herb is tolerated for women, but they should not express any knowledge or illumination that they receive from it (assuming, of course, that they receive any, which in most of these beliefs is not the case; for the followers, women do not think, or should not think, they are supposed to be just beautiful and children-bearers).
