Libili sa dvama mladi, te dvama mladi,

Doshlo vreme da se vzemat

Mladite te liubili, svatba storili

Liubili sa dvama mladi, te dvama mladi,

Viarna kletva dali, te dvama mladi,

Doshlo vreme da se vzemat

Lelele…

Svatba storili

Two young people were in love

It came the time they get married

These young people were in love, and they did a wedding

Two young people were in love, these two young people,

They became faithful to each other, these two young people,

It came the time they get married

Lelele…

A wedding they did.

no forcing / bez zmuszania

It is beautiful how love songs from mystical traditions of Indian subcontined can be easily used both in spiritual context and for talking about human relations. It is because in reality there is no difference. Sufi or Baul philosophy, poetry, songs are mainly about love, about giving away of “lower” self, submission, the hardest lesson, and at the same time the only gate towards bliss. So here is some shots from my travels with mystics and a translation of a Sufi love song below, used by Bollywood, of course in a love story. You have to be aware though, when Sufis say “God” , they do not mean anything out there, any reality different from ourselves.

dil kho gaya, ho gaya… kisika…
(I lost my heart, it became… someone else’s…)
ab raasta, mil gaya…. khushi ka…
(a way to the heart, I found… of happiness…)
aankhon mein hai, khwaab sa… kisika…
(in my eyes, is a dream… of someone…)
ab raasta, mil gaya… khushi ka…
(a way to the heart, I found… of happiness…)

rishta nayaa, rabba… dil chhu raha hai…
(a new relation, God… the heart has begun touching now…)
kheenche mujhe koi dorr, Teri Ore… ( Teri Ore)
(and a string pulls me towards you… -towards you- )

Teri Ore… Teri Ore… Teri Ore… hai Rabba…
(towards you… towards you… towards you… O God!)
Teri Ore… Teri Ore… Teri Ore…
(towards you… towards you… towards you…)

khulti fizayein…
(opening breezes…)
ghulti ghataayein…
(and soul-stirring scapes…)
sir pe naya hai aasmaan….
(seems like a new sky above us…)

chaaro dishayein…
(all the four directions…)
hass ke bulayein…
(call for us, with laughter…)
yun sab hue hain meherbaan…
(this is how everyone is being generous…)

haan… humein to yahi rabba…
(yeah… all this, my God…)
kasam se pata hai…
(I swear is all I know…)
dil pe nahi, koi zorr… koi zorr..
(that there’s no forcing the heart… no forcing…)

sachhaa ho dil to… sau mushkilein hon…
(if the heart is true… no matter a hundred troubles…)
jhukta naseeba paon mein…
(destiny bows down at your feet…)

dil kho gaya, ho gaya… kisika…
(Straciłam serce, należy teraz do kogoś innego…)
ab raasta, mil gaya…. khushi ka…
(drogę do serca, znalazłam, do szczęścia…)
aankhon mein hai, khwaab sa… kisika…
(w moich oczach, jest marzenie… o kimś…)
ab raasta, mil gaya… khushi ka…
(drogę do serca, znalazłam, do szczęścia…)

rishta nayaa, rabba… dil chhu raha hai…
(nowy związek, Panie…serce zaczęło dotykać…)
kheenche mujhe koi dorr, Teri Ore… ( Teri Ore)
(sznurek ciągnie mnie ku tobie…ku tobie… )

Teri Ore… Teri Ore… Teri Ore… hai Rabba…
(ku tobie…ku tobie…ku tobie…O Boże ! )
Teri Ore… Teri Ore… Teri Ore…
(ku tobie…ku tobie…ku tobie…)

khulti fizayein…
(otwierające wiatry…)
ghulti ghataayein…
(wstrząsające duszą przestrzenie…)
sir pe naya hai aasmaan….
(wydaje się że nad nami nowe niebo…)

chaaro dishayein…
(wszystkie cztery kierunki…)
hass ke bulayein…
(wzywają nas, ze śmiechem…)
yun sab hue hain meherbaan…
(tak hojni są wszyscy…)

haan… humein to yahi rabba…
(tak, wszystko to, o Panie…)
kasam se pata hai…
(przysięgam, to wszystko co wiem…)
dil pe nahi, koi zorr… koi zorr..
(że nie ma zmuszania serca, nie ma zmuszania)

sachhaa ho dil to… sau mushkilein hon…
(jeżeli serce jest szczere, nieważne setki problemów…)
jhukta naseeba paon mein…
(przeznaczenie kłania się u twych stóp…)
