I started my travels in far away lands and mental landscapes around 10 years ago, cycling around Jamaica, young boy in love with Rastafari culture. It was my first encounter with tropical heat, with the thickness of humid air when storm comes, with burning, unforgiving sun. I guess it is a full circle now when I walk with another bunch of dreadlocked, ganja smoking mystics in another background, and I think about great reggae piece by Third World, song called “96 degrees in the shade”. It is not a song about beach life, and we are not on holidays.

Rozpocząłem swoje podróże po dalekich krajach i mentalnych krajobrazach ponad 10 lat temu, włócząc się po Jamajce na rowerze, młody chłopak zakochany w rastafariańskiej filozofii. Było to moje pierwsze spotkanie z tropikalnym gorącem, z tym gęstym, wilgotnym powietrzem przed nadejściem burzy, z palącym, bezlitosnym słońcem. Myślę, że zatoczyłem teraz pełen krąg, teraz kiedy idę z bandą innych dredziarzy, palących zioło mistyków przez inne tło innej kultury, i przypominam sobie klasyk reggae, kawałek Third World, “96 stopni w cieniu”. “96 degrees in the shade” to nie jest piosenka o plażowych problemach, a my nie jesteśmy na wakacjach.
