Ki bole Manush more / Who Says Man Dies?

“The soul of all living beings lives in the Universal soul,
Who fills the source of the pure Force?
Our precious body will be destroyed
The water of the ocean is formed from the waters of all the flowing rivers
Which again go back to their source
The ocean never dries
The high and low tides go away and return
In this way the man is leaving and returning”

“Dusza wszystkich żywych istot żyje w duszy Uniwersalnej
Przez kogo wypełniane jest źródło czystej Siły?
Nasze cenne ciało zostanie zniszczone.

Wodę oceanu tworzą wody ze wszystkich rzek,
Które z powrotem biegną ku swemu źródłu
Ocean nigdy nie umiera
Przypływy i odpływy odchodzą i wracają
W tym czasie człowiek odchodzi i wraca”

Monsur Fakir

The pictures in this post were shot during a special ceremony happening 40 days after death of respected Baul guru in western Bangladesh region called Kushtia, Baul cradle and homeland of Lalon Fakir. Bauls and ordinary pilgrims gather on this day, as it is believed this is the time when soul of the departed enters new being, 40 days after the death. What is a chilling fact is that science tells us that it is between 40 and 49 days after the conception that pineal gland – the third eye of the eastern traditions, the seat of the soul in many cultures, first appears in the new person. There is no way medieval Tantric Buddhists and Bauls, illiterate vagabond musicians could have known that.
