rules / reguły

Wszystkie społeczeństwa mają swoje reguły i pajęczyny.

Cykl leczenia to 14 dni, codziennie jedna pigułka. Można je sprowadzić do apteki z zagranicy, w dwudziestym pierwszym wieku trwa to trzy miesiące. Ma je też oddział na którym leżę. Niestety, państwo które go utrzymuje musi oszczędzać.

All societies have their rules and webs. Society is not your friend, it is a vampire, rules are there to entangle you in collective game that perhaps serves the collective but I never liked it. I do not rebel however, not too desperately, because I know that desperate struggle makes you more entangled in the web.

I am stuck in hospital ward, tropical diseases, diagnosis being return of malaria. I am cool already, fevers are gone thanks to the magical pills of the modern medicine, but the game will continue for some time, because once you start to play with the system, you are in the web, and it is not so easy to be out. The whole treatment lasts 14 days, one pill a day. They can not be bought here in Poland, not even in nearby Berlin. They could be ordered from the USA by any local pharmacy, but the procedure lasts 3 months. They are also in possesion of the ward that holds me prisoner. However, the state that supports the hospital is always “saving”. So the saving system works like this – the pills will only be refunded for the hospital if I am its in-patient. I have no other reason to be here, so I need to waste my time in their bed and the state will pay not only more my pill I take once in 24 hours, but also for each day of my stay.

Of course I will again find my way around these rules, as I also broke them a month ago, during my intitation with another medicine called iboga, in a Bwiti temple in Cameroon. This time however my dance around the rules wil be more careful, because my hospital stay now may testify to the truth in Bwitis’ warning that punishment for broken rules may catch me anywhere.

To receive that medicine I also needed to be locked for some days, laying on concrete floor in windowless cell inside the temple, listening to endless banging on the drums and harps, no food or water, obeying dozens of absurd, complicated rules of the initiation, rules that were designed to succesfully lead me, together with ibogaine chemistry in my brain, to meeting with my ancestors, and God, perhaps. Not all of these rules were followed. The system of course always claims in such situation, that it was the cause of failure, my still rational mind rather suggest insufficient dose, but there is a third option – there has been no failure and all is well, exactly as spun by the Norns.

More will follow later, if they allow.
